Tjm623
I've been driving with the AWD screen up more lately to see when it is kicking in. It is literally on anytime you go from complete stop to moving in a red light situation. not necessarily a bad thing but it is what it is
NYT
Because Ford's AWD is also proactive, not just reactive. It sends power to the rear based on throttle input and steering angle among other things to anticipate the need for rear traction to prevent slipping. Thanks, very good info! Is there a link or video where Ford describes how this works in detail? I was leaning FWD because ($2k less, 10% more power & mileage, less weight, less parts to break) but if AWD will come into play more than the once a year my wife accelerates hard in the snow (and with snow tires), I might have to re-consider.
