Edge291
Whenever sitting in my car, in park, for long periods of time (10-15 minutes) the Service AdvanceTrac warning blinks along with the hydroplane light. I am thinking it has to do with a sensor, but I have asked the dealership and they said they haven't heard of this happening while in park. It has never come on while driving. Wondering what is causing this. It's a 2012 Ford Edge.
WWWPerfA_ZN0W
In park and idling? Sounds like the wheel speed/ABS sensors might have gotten some dirt/rust in them and need cleaning up. Could also be moisture buildup that evaporates on movement. I'd get the connectors cleaned up, add some dielectric grease, close them up & seal them well with electrical tape. daveski
Hello, I have found that my 2011 sport has started doing the same thing, but only when I am driving it and come to a complete stop. Can you provide any photos of the areas where these sensors are located so I can inspect/clean them up to see if that takes care of the problem explained? Any information is greatly appreciated and thank you!

I had warranty repair of my brake booster done there and when i brought it home it started doing this. Just when idling after driving. They say it is a coincidence that it started the day after they worked on it... --mobrien118
macbwt
Friend of mine at work has a 2011 with very intermittent Service AWD lights. After many trips to the dealer they finally ran it down to a connector and she has not had a problem since. Of course her battery saver is still a problem and I have not had time to check the system, but the dealer says the alternator is good. Yeah well I am not so sure. blueovalbubb
My "Service AdvanceTrac" warning has just started coming on in the past week. Like others, it only comes on while idling. My Edge came from NJ, so i'm thinking road salt could be the culprit. If i run the Edge by Advance Auto, do you think they can tell me which sensor location is giving me the problem? Should this be covered under the factory warranty?
akirby
I don't think the normal obd-II code reader can read those codes. Probably need a dealer or a mechanic with an IDS.

They say it is a coincidence that it started the day after they worked on it... --mobrien118 Sorry I just saw this. I actually haven't taken my edge to SunTrup since the first oil change because it is quite a drive. I hadn't had the warning come back since I posted in here but just yesterday while my car was in idle waiting on my daughter to get out from preschool it happened again. I am thinking maybe I should just bring to dealer and see what they say but I'm out of warranty since I have 80,000 miles on it. Wondering if anyone has found a real solution to what the issue might be.
