mcali6301
Hi, For some strange reason, the idiot who owned this car before me had taken the panels surrounding the spare tire out and never fastened them back. Or maybe is was the dealership, who knows. I live in San Diego so I can only imagine why this could have been done. Obviously I took them out and thoroughly inspected underneath. Question is this, can anyone identify exactly what kind of nuts that will fasten these back up? I attached pics.

mcali6301
Really????? It certainly does not look that way but if more people can confirm then I guess it's true...very strange...
fit1446
If I'm correct you are referring to the storage trays next to your spare tire? Those "bolts" that are there are simply guides so the trays sit in place correctly. I wouldn't want mine bolted down anyway. But believe me they are not going to go anywhere. PaulSchott
Just ran outside to look at mine and there are no nuts on the studs. Guess the engineers thought they were needed and then they just decided they weren't.
fit1446
They are just alignment pins. Not bolts. Those storage trays are made to be removed. They do not even move when in place and the rear deck lid is closed. I suppose if u wanted them bolted down you could install studs and secure them. I personally remove the one on the passenger side often to access my audio equipment. One holds my amplifier and it doesn't move at all. I suppose if I turned my car over they may move a bit, so if that is a concern I definitely suggest bolting them down.
