Jsenske
Yeah. The outer part is actually broke so it probably is my cause seeing this would affect shift to 4th. There is stuff spinning when diode should have it stopped from that direction. Hopefully it all works out. I should have taken a picture but forgot
Jsenske
What is the reason you can't mix mercron v with Mercron lv. Just wondering the differences in transmissions that I belief are the same from 2008 to 2009 but the 2009 takes mercron Lv. Why can't mine use mercron lv
WWWPerfA_ZN0W
Mercon LV is a thinner fluid than Mercon V, designed to improve fuel economy. Here are the comparative datasheets: Product Data Sheet MERCON V.pdf Product Data Sheet MERCON LV.pdf As you can see, LV has lower viscosity at all rated temperatures. Surprisingly, it shears more easily as well, with a lower VI than the V fluid. Beyond that, I don't have a clue what the differences could be. I am sure there are differences in the stabilizers and other additives as well. Mercon V MSDS.pdf Mercon LV MSDS.pdf
Jsenske
Fixed the transmission. The root cause was bad TCM/solenoid pack. I'm sure the hard parts broke because of the strain the delayed shifting put on it. Wanted to make sure I posted the fix. Seems like a lot of people don't and you never figure out what people had wrong.
Jsenske
Anybody know the part # and the cheapest place you can get a solenoid assembly for transmission on a 2008 Ford Edge. The one I got is just to troubleshoot now I need to buy one
WWWPerfA_ZN0W
Ask Benny at Levittown Ford Super Center for a quote. There's always EBay or other Ford dealers as a fallback, but I'd stick with Benny if it comes down to it.
