built2prfctn
When the hell are they gonna release a cold air intake for the sport. I want my truck to sound badass!
WWWPerfA_ZN0W
An air filter can be just as "sound" a decision. I know the AEM DryFlow made a significant difference in that department.
POWERSTROKE
NO WAY is an Edge a "truck"! And if you think a cold air intake is going to change the way it sounds you have L-O-T-S to learn. Ā An F-150, or my F-250 diesel or my SON's RAM 2500 4wd CTD is a truck. Edge is a crossover SUV based off the FUSION AUTOMOBILE.
Nick Halstead
Have you looked at the 2.7 engine bat upclose? Its a plumbing nightmare for aftermarket companies. Intake is gonna be $400-600 due to this. Go look at the f150 2.7 intake options. Lots of pieces and thats a bigger bay with the motor sitting the correct way!

rwf78155
I did the complete CAI change for my 2014 edge Sport and used the K&N system. A complete waste as Ive notice zero change in performance or gas mileage. If I had to do it over Id just buy a K&N or other brand aftermarket filter. and pocket $

GT500R
Bought a panel filter for my Edge. Still need to install and test for any type of performance gains.
larryinfl1
Since the old Sport was a naturally aspirated engine you would see very little improvement in power. It would be there, but it would not be enough to notice while driving. Ā The 2015 Sport, on the other hand, is a twin turbo force induction engine and there would absolutely be a performance gain that would be noticeable. There would also most certainly be more sound from the engine, as the stock intake is built to reduce engine noise. Ā I have a '15 Sport and check online every month or so to see if something popped up to go along with my Livernois tune and happened to stumble across this thread. gjb89
After reading everything about K&N I don't think I'll ever get a CAI. The few HP doesn't justify making the risk.
Nick Halstead
contemplating an AFE dry flow filter. or for shits and giggles and sheer loudness going with the Vaccar Sema Edge look.
junehhan
After reading everything about K&N I don't think I'll ever get a CAI. The few HP doesn't justify making the risk. Not to mention the significantly lower filtering efficiency which means you suck more dirt and bigger dirt particles. I cannot stand how companies like K&N market their products with sensational claims of +xx% fuel economy and +yy power gains.
gjb89
Decided I would try out the AFE dry flow panel filter. Seems to be pretty popular on the Fusion Sport Forums.
gjb89
Installed the AFE panel filter today initial thoughts. Ā Performance gains - none that butt dyno could tell (wasn't expecting any) Noise - No noticeable noise increase or the typical CAI sound Build - Here i'm actually pretty satisfied. To me it seems to fit a little better over the OEM filter. The oem filter's seal on mine had all sorts of holes from bubbles popping when being manufactured (see picture). My opinion is the AFE may hold a better seal. Ā Ā Ā Ā
Dehcure82
Recently did this to my 16' Edge sport. Removed stock air box and fabricated a new 1 to accommodate filters.

I have used AFE filters before because they appear to be built very well appearing to maintain good filtering efficiency. I have mostly used their paper conical filters before to replace the K&N or S&B oiled filters that various CAI kits I have purchased in the past came with.

gjb89
ETA? Where did you read that they were? I think they have plans to come out with one for the Fusion, it's just a matter of someone fitting it to an Edge.

Driv200
Just bought Edge Sport. I have a race shop where we custom fab intakes and exhaust. Would any of you be interested in a kit? I will get the shop to make one and post some pics. Estimate labor and material to be around $400? I have done the same with Hyundai Rspec vehicles. I can powder coat our kits to any color you want. Email if you want. EMP@enhancedmotorsports.com
