64chevelle
Just got a quOTE I guess it needs both rear wheel bearings and front strut mountil bearings. 1400 bucks for them to do it. Are they really that bad to do? Ant input
WWWPerfA_ZN0W
Even with full price dealer parts (around $500), you are looking at labor charges for the majority of the quote. So I'd say find a reputable non-dealer servicer and get a better quote.
64chevelle
Yeah I will do that...maybe I will also supply the hub/bearings to. Did some reading timken seems like a good bearing and I found some for 85 a peice shipped
WWWPerfA_ZN0W
The hub & bearing are integrated assemblies on the Edge, but I suppose a good shop could swap out just the bearings.
64chevelle
Yeah that's what I meant. Timken has the hub and bearing assembly for 85...or I like moog stuff too...moog are around 100 a pop. Just don't want to have to keep replacing these to often. WWWPerfA_ZN0W
When it comes to bearings, I too like Timken if they have a product available. Good luck, looking forward to how it works out for ya.
64chevelle
Thanks. I'm thinking timken or moog. Is this a pretty difficult job? I do my wrenching on old cars haven't done a lot with the newer stuff. I have access to a hoist at work.
