Edge driving louder and more powerful than normal after replacing fan assembly

After taking my edge to the garage several times with it overheating and replacing several different things, I finally broke down an bought a manufactured ford fan assembly, before I replaced it my edge was driving rough rpm very high an very loud brakes wasn't working good would squill when I turned sharp. Which my manual does say that it would start shutting things down. When I took it the ford place to get a diagnostic my check engine light had never came on, when I picked my car up after diagnostic my check engine light was on it was reading 2 codes cooling fan relay 1 control circuit, and intake air temp sensor circuit high input. But then the next day the check engine light went back off. I ordered the ford fan put it on flushed coolant and put new coolant back in. It's not overheating now and is definitely not running as rough an loud like it was but it just doesn't seem like it's all the way back to driving normal, it seems loud to me an like it has alot of power, before it just seemed quite and smooth like. Now when I'm going down a hill it feels an sounds like if I was driving a manual and say I'm in 2 gear an it's needing to be shift to third, it almost sounds like a winding I guess. I'm sorry I know this is a long post but just giving all the info, any ideas on why it's like that? Or should I even be worried about it?

I assume you rechecked the codes and it is all clear? Simply replacing the fan assembly should not cause the "new" problems. When you are driving on a flat road, do any of these problems show up, and if so, to the same degree as driving downhill? The sound you describe may be engine braking ... Have you checked the transmission fluid (and if AWD, the PTU/RDU fluids)? Did you check the brakes, are they working ok & in good condition? Did you check the belts for slippage? How many miles do you have on your Edge to date?

EDIT: Check the exhaust system for leaks, can make car sound very loud ...

I've took it to see if any codes will show up but they won't check them unless the check engine light is on. It's mainly when going downhill, sometimes when it's going into a different gear on a flat road doesn't really make that sound but just loud when switching gears on flat surface. It's like its holding itself back. I have not checked the fluids, I will do that, brakes are good, it is a AWD and 131,000 miles.

Not much of a service center if they don't know codes can be set without the CEL being on. You can have them pulled by any major auto store like AutoZone/Advance Auto for free.

Definitely run through the checks in my previous post, though I suspect transmission or PTU fluid involvement at this point, pending further data.

Did you try touching the accelerator to see if the noise goes away (like akirby said)? If it does, it is likely the main process involved is the engine/transmission management. The noise part is what bothers me. Can be audible, but should not be LOUD.

The PTU is located on the passenger side of the engine compartment, and the right axle/halfshaft emerges from it, going out to the wheel. You will see a round plug with a square hole in the middle. That is what you need to take out to check fluid fill level & condition.

The RDU is located pretty much dead center between the rear wheels at the rear end of the driveshaft, can't miss it. On this, the plug, I believe, faces the rear bumper, and is located on the bottom right quarter of the RDU cover, which has like 10 bolts holding it on.

Check to make sure there are no leaks at/on the PTU/RDU. The PTU leaks can be from the vent (located atop the unit), from the mating surface between PTU and transmission, or from the axle emerging from the PTU. Rarely, it will leak where the PTU & driveshaft meet. The RDU leaks are usually from the vent or the pinion seal where the driveshaft & RDU meet (the yoke).

I have to turn off the radio to be able to hear it, it's not super loud it's just more noticeable than normal, when I'm going downhill its holding the cars speed back so it don't go to fast downhill that's when I get that soft (I guess I should say humming sound) i can hit the gas to try an get it to kick into gear i have to press the gas quite a bit an it vrooms an then kicks into gear, then if im just sitting still if I roll the window I can hear a rattling noice now an it sounds more at the passenger front outside.
