d0minicano
Not really a fan of Chrome, but the Sport prices were out of my league. Has anyone looked to see if the black Sport Trim is available at the dealer?
can0n4
They don't offer it. You can buy the parts primed and get them sprayed if you want or you can wrap them in vinyl. I did plastidip 12 months ago. Still looks like the day I did it, and when I trade it in, it will all come back off no issues. Check my pics.
knickerbocker
I love the black grill on the 2015s. I'm considering platidip or vinyl on the grey/chrome grill when I get my 2016 titanium.

WingNut
I have the Sport and while I like the black of the grill, I don't like the black, shiny plastic they used for it. I think I'd prefer a more matte black. I may plastic dip half to see how it looks

Vadimus
Black grill is fine, chrome-less black windows trim looks damn cheap on my Sport...
d0minicano
I would of thought that ford would put more chrome in the higher models and go more plain with the lower model.

Brad Luczak
I'm only aware of the Explorers having the Sport Appearance package. I think it was a $1200 option which wasn't bad for upgraded wheels and seats along with different grill and badges. Mabey in 2016 they will offer something similar for the Edge SEL's
knickerbocker
Maybe the 2017-2018s might have appearance package but all indications from order guides and Ford.com don't have it on the 16's.

Dooley
I have an SEL and painted the grill, the side window trim (chrome), and the polished wheels with Flexidip. So far, after 3 months and driving in a lot of rain it is holding up well. It is easy to spot fix if it does get damaged. Using Flexidip really cuts down on masking as you can have overspray on the paint and it simply lifts off. I am so anti chrome I even did the exhaust pipe tips and they have held up very well.

shawno619
Did you completely remove the grill before painting it Dooley? If so how hard was it to take down? TowerMonkey
I just did the matte black plasti dip on the grill and headlight trim and it looks fantastic. The entire bumper cover is super easy to remove and replace.
Mgavin1985
How many coats and spray can do did you use. I bought vinyl wrap but did not turn out good
TowerMonkey
I did 4 coats and used just over 1 can. The first 2 coats were light, 3rd coat heavy and a 4th coat for the texture I wanted. Probably could have used just one can but I hate how they sputter paint when they are near empty.
Jtherres
How did you manage to get the headlight trim off with that screw being behind the fender? I just did the matte black plasti dip on the grill and headlight trim and it looks fantastic. The entire bumper cover is super easy to remove and replace.
