Boxer
Have a 2015 Ford Edge Titanium. About 6 weeks after delivery my sunroof wouldn't open and I had no interior lighting. Basically anything controlled by the ceiling control panel didn't work and the buttons for the auto flip down rear seats didn't work either. Took in for repair and they replaced a module. 2 weeks later ... same thing happened. Took in for repair and found a problem with a wiring harness. Replaced it too. Has anyone else had electrical problems with the sunroof or any ceiling wiring?
Perk
Vista Sunroof cracked sitting in the garage overnight at a moderate temperature with only 8K on a new 2015 Edge Titanium ... dealer sent photo to Ford and within 48 hours a new glass was ordered from the glass supplier ( not Ford ) ... we do hope this is not a reoccuring problem Perk
27Sport
On cold mornings lately (20-30F) my roof glass creaks like crazy for the first few miles. I keep waiting for it to either crack or shatter. I love the way the glass opens up the interior but the creaking and headliner rattles make it seem like this is the first vehicle Ford has ever put a sunroof in. I swear there had to have been zero cold weather testing on this design.
chicagoslick
Are the panoramic roofs similar on all of Fords vehicles? We have the pano on our F150KR and we absolutely love it. No problems to this point and one of the reasons I ordered it on my Edge. I swore I would never order another sunroof until we bought our F150KR and that changed my mind completely.... omar302
Ford Panoramic roofs are not the same. I see 3 different types: 1- Sunroof with additional glass extending to the back seat. You'll notice that the front (moving) glass panel is smaller than the rear, and when it opens, it slides under the rear glass panel. All Ford/Lincoln models with panoramic sunroofs have this except the Edge, MKX (<2016) & MKZ (2013+). Edit: I think the 2015+ F150 now has the both glass panels nearly the same size, but the front panel slides under the rear panel. 2-The "vista" roof, where the front glass panel is larger than the tears. Here when it opens, the front glass slides over the rear glass & would actually open over the roof. As far as I know, this is only present in the 2007+ Edge & 2007-2015 MKX. The 2016 MKX uses type 1 unlike the new Edge. 3- The full roof, which only the MKZ has (2013+). The whole roof is one big glass panel, when it opens, it slides over the rear window.
