Blackey
Anyone else getting an exhaust smell inside the cabin during hard acceleration? I saw the TSB but that's for 2014's right?
WWWPerfA_ZN0W
That's just when they decided to put out the TSB for. As with anything, it may or may not be the problem in your specific instance, but worth a go at the dealer to have them fix.
9mmbullitt
I have a 2015 Edge Sport with an exhaust smell entering the cabin under hard acceleration. It has been at the dealer for a week. They said the TSB for this problem is for 2011 - 2014's and does not apply to the 2015's. Now it sits waiting for advice from Ford engineers. Not real pleased about this. If anyone else has this problem or has found a fix please post. I don't know if it is specific to the 2.7 Ecoboost which means it could be an issue with the turbo gases venting or the way the exhaust exits with the chrome trim rings or if it is a general Edge design problem not engine specific. Looking for answers.

9mmbullitt
Edge was in the shop for 16 days. Ford told them to look for a oil leak...they said they found a slight leak from the oil pan, replaced the seal and tested. Exhaust smell was still there. Then Ford said to pull the rear bumper where there are 4 "vents" for release of cabin pressure, such as slamming the door, etc.. Ford sent them four new vents. They thought it was fixed. I took it for a test drive and after several stop light to stop light hard accelerations, smell was still there. They said to take the car and they would contact Ford again. Now just waiting for the next "fix" Ford tells them to do. Not happy!
col-buddy-greenleaf
I also have the exhaust smell after hard acceleration on my 2015 Edge Sport FWD. It initially happened on the freeway when I had the A/C on. I switched the A/C to recirculate.. same thing happened. I checked under the hood afterwards and observed that the engine sits way back under the dashboard, and some of the turbo plumbing is also located under the dashboard. My guess is that this is either crank-case ventilation gasses during high boost, or some sort of exhaust gas leak near the turbo under high boost. I think these gases fill the engine compartment briefly, then get sucked into the cabin.
LNCHBOX
I had this same smell on my 2014 Mustang GT and now on my Edge Sport, so I doubt it's any turbo related issue. I hope they come up with the fix for this, it's very annoying.
Beezz
functional & close-able hood vents anyone?
ONEDGE16
I have the same smell on my 2016 SEL 2.0 EB FWD. Funny enough, if i switch to sport mode (instead of D), there is no smell with hard acceleration.
WWWPerfA_ZN0W
That observation would lead me to believe the smell is caused by the engine running lean in D, heating up the catalytic converter more than in S, and thus the smell. We need a chassis sniffer equivalent of chassisears ...
enigma-2
I have the same smell on my 2016 SEL 2.0 EB FWD. Funny enough, if i switch to sport mode (instead of D), there is no smell with hard acceleration. That's really strange. Why would the engine speed affect whether exhaust fumes enter the car?
