eldude12
I have searched the forums to see if I can find something similar, but wasn't able to. I started having a problem with the a/c not blowing cold air at first. It would only get cold when driving. Then one day the engine temp shot up and luckily I noticed it before any damage to the engine. I noticed that the cooling fans weren't turning on at all, so I checked them, connected them directly to the power supply and they barely try to turn, as if the motors were burnt up. I bought a new fan assembly, VDO FA 70796. As soon as I plugged them in, they turned on. I couldn't figure out what the issue was. I turn the key on and they turned off. They appear to work just fine when the car is running, but as soon as I turn off the engine, they're running. I've searched on the forums and read that it might the CHT sensor or just the way that it plugs connectors are with the TYC brand fans. Does anybody have any suggestions on how to troubleshoot this issue? The new fan connected just fine when it got put in there. The harness isn't lose or anything like that. Thanks in advance.
thegeoguy
The plug may be installed backwards, try unplugging it and rotating it 180 degrees and plug back in.
