Fuel Injection Cleaners - Anyone Use Them?

I was trolling around Youtube and came across this video https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=-ynGWxzJHjA. He recommends BG 44K Fuel System Cleaner to clean the system andChevron 65740 Techron Concentrate Plus Fuel System Cleaner to prevent build up.

I sort of think most of this is snake oil, but he makes good points. Anything to allow my 2.7 turbo to run better and not damage things is what I am after.

Any one use this stuff?

Won't help tho with the carbon buildup on the back side of the intake valves, because it doesn't reach there. BUT you can certainly keep the fuel system very clean with those products. The fuel that gets into the oil (fuel dilution) will not be carrying crud with it, which is good. Much of the problem though is in the PCV system. If you get a "leaky" unit, that will accelerate the buildup.

So my interim recommendation is to do an intake/induction system cleaning periodically (say yearly or every 12,000 miles) shortly before the oil & filter change, and if you want to do the fuel system cleaning, that is a bonus! Monitor any oil buildup in the intake piping and intercooler. If those stay dry, that's what you want.

Also use a low volatility full synthetic engine oil to further decrease chances of anything coming out of the PCV system.

my sons car was not running as well as a year ago and the mpg had slipped significantly.....

A mechanic told us to try the BG 44K and after one tank his car is running like new again and has regained the lost mpg he was getting.

Its not cheap but its the best !

I used to only use Shell/Mobil/etc. until I did some research and found that you are better off buying the cheapest gas you can find AS LONG AS that gas station has a high or very high turnover. For example, there is a gas station on my way home that I swear rarely has an empty pump available between 8am and 9pm every day AND it has the cheapest gas within a reasonable driving distance. I go there now and will (as I mentioned above) add some Lucas Oil additive before long trips.
