Sport's dual exhaust

All depends on design on the exhaust and packaging. It could be replaced with a larger, single pipe, 2into1 setup if you wanted to go that route. But from a marketing standpoint, on a higher end vehicle, people expect dual exhaust tips at a minimum LOL. This is provided of course on the Gen I Edge with a split at the back end of the catback instead of a true dual layout.

As someone mentioned, for performance, catless downpipes will help. Potentially a better header as well depending on the current design. As for a full exhaust, I found you change it for the sound it makes, not the performance it provides (once you have done the downpipes).

There is no header on the 2.7 the turbos are mounted directly to the block. I've looked at my exhaust and nothere are some restrictions around the cat....my buddy at light speed figured you could get a 15 to 20 hp gain with better exhaust. ....but again that could void your warranty.

FWD here, simply cause well...awd isn't that big in Hawaii. neither are vista roofs.

All my tires spin a bit when I actively start from the light in a rain, sometime 1->2 shift is squeaky too (on Blizzak DM-V1 winter tires though).

Mine's AWD, cannot imagine what would it be with just FWD.

same here... if I take the tract control off, I can light all 4 tires up when it rains.....I cant imagine what the fwd would do with tract control off.....it would be a beast!

My dad was very surprised that the edge had a true dual exhaust. It looks almost fake til you look under the edge. Guess he was just use to all the fake crap dual exhaust systems that GM puts on their vehicles....he had a fake dual system on their grand am, grand prix and their G6....funny thing is he and my mom are now going to buy an edge sport....I let him drive mine and he loved it.

No way you're 'lighting up' all 4 tires with open diffs :) 2 at most :D

If that was the case, they would light up all the time(even on dry).....which never happens on dry road conditions, so as Vadimus said all 4 must be receiving torque or else they would be spinning all the time.

Youtube open diff burn out :) Most likely spinning just one tire. Easier proof... find some snow, turn off traction, floor, have friend with beer watch/videotape, profit :)

As soon as any one wheel breaks traction all of the torque will go to it and the others are sitting there still...

Why would an exhaust void your warranty? It does not work like that. The dealer would have to prove evidence that the modification directly caused the issue you're looking to have repaired with your warranty. Tuning (increasing boost) would be a bigger concern from a warranty perspective than an exhaust, obviously.

There is a general service bulletin that went out to dealers explaining how to identify the different causes of parts failures due to performance modifications. One listed is an aftermarket exhaust that can cause the turbo impeller to over speed and self destruct. So yes, an exhaust system can easily be proven to have caused damage.

Backpressure :) Important in turbo cars however modifying anything after the DP usually has very little effect on it.
