jstall7543
I went with the 5k bulbs because any hint of blue light is illegal here in WA. I'm still wondering if the DRL'S are legal here in WA, as they are super bright and awesome lol! jstall7543
I've got a question for you guys, it looks like my drive bright hid's take about 45 to 60 seconds to achieve full brightness. My question is do you think the time would be reduced if I wired these up with the harness?
WWWPerfA_ZN0W
Did it come with the harness? Then, yes, definitely you should wire it up. From all reports, the DTBL HIDs are among the fastest on the market. Could be the ballasts are faulty or incorrect though. Can happen on occasion. If you post a pic of the parts, other product owners can help verify, at least the external aspects.
jstall7543
Dan's instructions said to only use the golden harness if the lights flicker and they don't so I didn't to avoid a rats nest of wiring under the hood lol. I ordered the edge specific kit the one that comes with the DRL'S, canbus and resistors. No other issues besides slow start up but they always start the first time and they are super bright 5k bulbs as seen in photo above. The kit take's about 45 seconds or so to achieve full brightness. The harness would probably have less resistance and offer a little more amperage than the standard plugs I imagine that would decrease the warm up time and maybe offer a little bit more light. I emailed Dan about what to do when I plug the battery back in, code wise etc... that was last Friday the 11th and zero response from Dan and today is the 19th. Somewhere read he had great customer service but I'm not experiencing that. So I didn't unhook the battery to avoid problems.

I love both kits and Dan will answer any questions for you....
WWWPerfA_ZN0W
Is the kit on the site identical to the product you received, I guess was my question. Dan hasn't responded yet? Email/phone/forum PM ... ? I'll try to contact him.
jstall7543
Yep, it's identical to the pic. I'm not un-happy at all as the lights made a night and day difference over stock and work excellent, my trip to work is so much better! jstall7543
Hey guys, I have another question about the xenon 5k bulbs, I'm getting a bluish purple outline the top of the bulb cut off pattern. Is this normal or is my bulb at the wrong orientation? I installed them so that the side bar on the bulb is down ward in the housing. Is this the correct orientation? jstall7543
Shoot! I just noticed Dan emailed me back on the 15th but it went in my new spam folder that came with the recent update to android. I didn't even notice it was there till today! Sorry Dan! fishx65
I think it's always a good idea to install a BEEFY dual relay waterproof harness when adding a hid kit regardless of the wattage. Not 100% sure but I would think it would allow the bulbs to reach full brightness quicker. Keep in mind that a harness needs to be well made with proper gauge wire cuz we don't want any meltdowns or fires.
jstall7543
Ya, I was thinking the same thing but the included harness wiring is no thicker than the stock wiring and seems to be ok for 35w. The ballist are barley warm after a 45min drive.
