John D
This is my first post, sorry its long winded, but this is a serious issue. . . I bought a new 2015 Edge 3.5 litre engine in June. The first time the engine stopped, I thought new car, no biggie. A couple of weeks later it happened again. No warning lights, no rough running before it happened, its like someone turned off the vehicle. It always starts back up like nothing happened. Last week was the 4th time it has shut off in 2 months and by far the most scary. . . This time the family is in the car with me. I'm rolling into an intersection about 20 mph, going to turn left. Traffic is approaching. . . As I start my left turn with traffic coming, the engine shuts off. I have to put it neutral and hit the brakes to start it back up. The cars behind me were also rolling. I hear tires screeching and horns honking. I almost got slammed from behind ! ! I drove straight to the dealership, and told them what had happened. They put me in a rental, and said they would check it out. They have had the car 5 days, and can' t find the problem. If they give it back to me and say they couldn't find anything wrong, Im done with this car. I checked out safer car.gov website and there are at least 4 other entries for the same thing on the 2015 model. Ford better get this figured out QUICK, before someone gets killed. I've had the car 2 months, put 5000 miles on it and loved it until this started happing. If anyone else out there is having this issue, PLEASE file a complaint on the safer car.gov site before someone gets hurt or killed.
foxxyfox
I think I experienced the same thing, any updates?
John D
Yes. The dealer ran test and found nothing. They then kept the vehicle for a week, driving it about 200 miles. They couldn't reproduce the stalling, so they returned it to us. We then had a meeting with the Sales Manger and expressed our fears and concerns with the vehicle. We then suggested that he check the safer car.gov website and they will see that others are having the same issue. . . The Manager then contacted the Owner and discussed the issue with him. . . They then made us a very fair retail offer to purchase the vehicle back, or trade it in on something else. They had a Toyota sister dealership. . . We got a new 4 Runner. . . Since filing our complaint with Safer Car. Gov, at least 2 more people have filed complaints for the same thing. Im not anti Ford, but something's going on with this vehicle, and somebody going to get hurt or killed. The only consistant factor with all the complaints is its the 3.5 v6 engine that is stalling. If thats your engine, please be careful. John D.
WWWPerfA_ZN0W
Probably needs a PCM calibration or a TB re-design. Glad you were able to get your situation resolved, John, even if it meant a different vehicle.

Woah, that's what mine needed (I hope) here's what they did: The thing is when mine stalled it didn't buckle or hesitate, it turned itself off very smoothly.
