Thomaswh3
I have a 2013 edge limited that I bought new . I took it to the dealer for a oil change and I told the service writer about a bad odor after I use the ac and park it in the garage . She checked her ford tsb list and said there was a fix for it . TSB -14-0045 . It requires replacing the evaporator and housing with a new redesigned unit . She said they have to remove the dash to do it . Has anyone had this done ? I really don't want my dash taken out but the smell is really bad .After I drive it with the air on my head starts to stop up and I get sinus pressure . Thanks for any advice . I only have 13000 miles on it .
WWWPerfA_ZN0W
#1 Change the cabin air filter, probably filthy. Easy DIY. #2 Check to see if water drips under the car when standing after having used AC for some time. If not, it is clogged. There is a connection near the driver side of the center console under the carpeting you can access to blow it out. #3 Spray Lysol (or a foaming AC cleaner product such as from BG or Lubegard; follow instructions) in the vents via the windshield cowl with the engine running and heat on high/blower on high after doing the above. If you still perceive the problem, go in for the TSB fix.
enigma-2
FYI, here's an excellent video on YouTube showing how to clean the evaporator housing using Lubegard's Kool-It. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Bi22mdXj3wM

I wish there were some way to get Ford to make this a recallHow far out of warranty is your car? Have you ever complained about it during the warranty period? Sometimes Ford makes goodwill repairs if warranty just expired. Try contacting the Ford rep in the forum for assistance.

Dukhaykh
It's not just in USA cars. I am from Middle East and I've been noticing this for a while, pretty much ever since ive had my 2014 edge. This only happens when i accelerate really fas, anyone know why? normcloutier
Has anyone had the repair done? I am afraid that removing and replacing parts will lead to more unrelated problems. I had the door sensor replaced on my 13 SEL and I have been back to the dealer 5 times for rattles/squeaks in the drivers door panel. Still not fixed. Things never go back together the same as on the production line.
