dolsen
Paint quality is great but the color from the front and rear bumper panels is a tad different from the rest of the car. Ford dealer said that was because it was painted on plastic vs. metal. Any truth to this or are these parts painted at a different time then the body of the vehicle then attached ? Yes as akirby said, its both. Generally the hang on parts are painted by a supplier at their facility and then mounted to the unit as its being built. Sprayed by a different process with different paint by different applicators at different times. Honestly its kind of a miracle they are able to get some so close in color. There is a specification from Ford for color match. Can you post any pics? I would be interested to see them if you care to share. I have a pretty good eye for paint
THE_BOLT
On my 2016 white platinum sport both front and rear bumpers are a different shade than the rest. It's very noticeable to me...but varsity ford in ann arbor Michigan don't see a difference. Varsity Ford has great salespeople but horrible service center! roots57
I've heard before that the flex additive used in paint for the plastic parts might contribute to a slight difference in color.
