claydoh86
I just got the 1.1.3 update from itunes for the iphone and my sync connects to the phone but decides to disconnect after about 30 seconds most of the time. Sometimes it works fine but I was just wondering if anyone else is having problems with the software upgrade and if Ford is working on an update for SYNC to fix a few of these bugs? CorporateEdge
As is discussed in other postings this is a problem with the phone software and/or sync. With every phone manufacturer "doing their own thing" and seemingly changing things with each and every new phone you are seeing compatability problems. Do a google search about sync and the palm treo's and see all the fun and games with that phone. Palm is rumoured to have had software fixes for many of the issues but for some reason has not released them. Have a look at your phone right after the Navi screen shows "called ended". Is your phone screen still showing the call to be active? I have this type of problem a couple of times every day and it bugs the heck out of those I call. They receive my call and then can't hear anything as the phone is active but the sync microphone is not working. I just select the manual disconnect on the phones screen and use it "hands on". dbonelee
I was having the same issue there is a workaround for this at the apple discussion forum. It involves you turning off the auto phone book download function. http://discussions.apple.com/thread.jspa?messageID=6392648 I just got the 1.1.3 update from itunes for the iphone and my sync connects to the phone but decides to disconnect after about 30 seconds most of the time. ScnStlr
I am having the same issue as you all. It connects and then disconnects within seconds. I have not tried turning off the phonebook download in Sync. I don't had DVD navigation so not sure if i can even do this. I will keep you posted when i have tried it. Not even sure how to turn it off. The UI is not too intuitive. Shawn Edited January 24, 2008 by ScnStlr
ScnStlr
you have to have an account syncmyride.com but there is an explanation on how to turn on "phone book" it at least tells you how to get to the section to set the settings. it's under how-to guides and called: "Automatically Use Your Contacts Phonebook Each Time You Connect To Sync"
ScnStlr
well. i didn't have the phonebook download set to ON. i think by default it is off. it's weird i can recieve calls and even make calls via the phone and it give me the option to use sync and it works fine. i'm still seeing if it is working again. it was paired when i last checked. Someone mentioned on another board to remove device and re-add the iphone. i have not yet tried that.
