skyhound
Well, tomorrow I'm going to pick up my new EDGE Limited AWD! Very excited. I'm coming from a Mustang with a Pioneer AVIC-Z1 aftermarket installed Navi. I also had the XM radio with XM traffic reporting. This was a really great feature. I know the Edge has Sirius, but it looks like Sirius also offers the traffic service. Does anyone know if I can add some hardware to my Edge Navi system that will allow it to receive the Sirius traffic data? In SoCal, traffic data is very important!! Thanks, Tom

kevinb120
I thought they said something about that with SYNC and the upcoming 911 upgrade, but don't quote me on that.
skyhound
Thanks for the info guys, Here's the official answer from SIRIUS: Dear Tom, We appreciate the time you have taken to contact us regarding the SIRIUS Traffic service in your 2008 Ford Edge. We're here to assist you! Tom, we're glad that you are interested in SIRIUS Traffic for your 2008 Ford Edge. At this time, in-car factory installed SIRIUS Traffic compatible navigation systems are currently offered on Chrysler, Dodge and Jeep vehicles. Aftermarket navigation systems that are compatible with SIRIUS Traffic are available from Alpine and Eclipse. The Alpine system requires the SIRIUS SIR-ALP10T SIRIUS Satellite Radio plus traffic tuner and the Alpine NVE-N872A navigation system with a monitor. The SIR-ALP10T is distributed through Directed Electronics. The NVE-N872A is available through Authorized Alpine Dealers nationwide. SIRIUS Traffic systems will soon be compatible with other vehicle manufacturers and aftermarket partners. We apologize for any inconvenience this has caused you. Have a great day!
