PrinzII
They should give you FWD guys TWO keys like the Hellcat owners get ....or a key switch similar to the C4 Corvette ZR-1
PrinzII
You should try a Ferrari 458 Italia or a Porsche 911 GT3 in auto mode. They downshift automatically. I never touched the paddles....(skip to the 3 min mark) That sounds like fun. The closest I got to that was test driving a Camaro ZL1. PrinzII
I haven't noticed any real torque steer with the AWD system. Front wheel drive, I can imagine. I test drove a 2015 Sport FWD and agree that the torque steer is horrendous. I have never driven a vehicle where torque steer almost rips the steering wheel from my hands. That alone sealed me considering the AWD Sport.
rmmick
Funny how contagious this is. After reading this, I went for a spin with 'S' (Titanium 2.0EB AWD) and man what a difference from 'D' getting off street corners. Still need to see how 'S' reacts on an On ramp full out: that's where I miss the HP's of my previous Edge's 3.5L for that continuous push. I have a titanium with the 2.0 as well. I always out of habit now in ANY ford or Lincoln vehicle, slide into sport when getting on a freeway ramp. Although I don't have the "big pimpin" 2.7, the 2.0 does pretty well in "s" mode. You do even get what I feel is that "glorious torque steer" separates the men from the not so! Like a pilot landing a small plane in a bad crosswind....we will see who backs off the throttle first... anyways in my travels I have noticed that in "s" I will average 19 mpg as opposed to 24.1 mpg which is a combined avaergae. I have always said...."it costs a lot to be the man". But when you spend that much, and they are basically giving away gas at this point, 2.89 here in se michigan, 2.25 in ohio, sort of "smoke 'em if you got 'em" in my opinion.
cv27
... in my travels I have noticed that in "s" I will average 19 mpg as opposed to 24.1 mpg which is a combined avaergae. ... Interesting... I'm pretty sure the MPG delta is not from highway driving, because there's no apparent RPM difference between 'D' and 'S'. So it has to be city driving. In my case, I don't believe I'm more aggressive on the pedal in 'S'. I'll see when I next fill up, although I'm still in breaking mode at ~1000km.
