hogala
The inside of the instrument cluster plastic is dirty over the speedometer. It's distracting, not to mention ugly and annoying. I need help getting to the inside of that plastic...
JOEHIO
OMG, how in the world did you manage that? Have no idea how to get it apart, why not try googling it?
IWRBB
You need to take the cluster out. I've never done it in an Edge, but I've done it on numerous other Fords. Remove whatever is required (might want to pick up a service manual or DVD) until you can access the screws for the gauge cluster. Pull the cluster forward and unhook the plugs from the back. Once it's out of the car, you can take it apart and clean the plastic lens. Ā (1st post here ever!)
JOEHIO
I did this on a Oldsmobile I had centuries ago, and waxed the plastic - helped remove minor scratches & blemishes.
hogala
Not sure what it was, but the plastic ended up being dirty on the outside, not the inside. Couldn't feel it when I ran my finger over it though. Took some goo gone, a lot of elbow grease and about a day to get it off, but it's gone.
JOEHIO
Glad your problem is solved, now If I could get the sensors on my wife's MKS fixed (post in lounge).
