mightybonus
Sensors replaced (and new fuel tank due to recall), picked it up and drove it home. Parked in garage to find major smoke coming from under the hood. Looked under car and saw transmission fluid leaking, dripping onto the exhaust pipe causing the smoke. Drove it right back. Now I'm in a loaner car.
WWWPerfA_ZN0W
SERIOUSLY??? WTF!!! Probably overfilled the transmission. Hope they give it back to you all cleaned up.
macbwt
That was a pretty incompetent mechanic.
majorahole
i know a lot of auto transmissions have to be filled with them up to temp and running, and you put it in till it comes out the fill hole. maybe just leftovers?? either way thats sloppy for a dealership to let that leave the bay
native5280
2007 Edge - 108k - Son's car, owned 6 months. He had this happen to him this evening and thankfully found this info here and in other places as well. Based upon poking around online, I'm confident I can replace the sensors, flush fluid, and perform the KAM reset myself, but nowhere do I see if I need to be prepared to replace any gaskets to complete this repair. Anyone who has done it themselves have some input? Thanks in advance
