When taking off from stop loud clicking in front end. Took to Ford dealer was told ptu unit. Replaced and still making noise...not in reverse and the noise slows down once it's in 4th gear or higher. Transmission shifts smoothly through all gears. No loss of power...just loud clicking very annoying. Only had vehicle three months...62,000 miles...any help greatly appreciated.

Welcome to the forum! That clicking sounds like either a halfshaft/CV joint or a hub. Is the sound louder in any one particular direction as you turn the steering wheel left or right, or take a left turn or right turn? Do you hear it when the Edge is stopped/idling? When was the last oil/filter change, and do you know what was used as replacement? At least should be Motorcraft synthetic blend 5W20 oil and Motorcraft FL500s oil filter.

Could be a driveshaft issue as listed on this website:

It is normal for the fuel injectors to tick on a regular basis, just wanted to rule that out right away.

It's making the clicking knocking sound on take off..going straight and in turns..the noise gets slower when shifts into second, then speeds up for third...but in fourth no noise...could it be transmission? Fluid has just been changed..no sound just sitting still...or power braking...Only on movement...shifts smoothly through all gears. Thanks
