Frank Drebin
I have 2 rattle and 1 loud noise going more intense week after week... First rattle: From pillar B (driver side) near of the roof when turning in a parking lot or cruising in broken pavement. It's not from the seat belt. May be the roof or the pano sunroof... https://youtu.be/i9LM1kwmJtA Second rattle: From the back seat (under the seat or near of there). It's a noise coming when I drive on the highway at 50mph or more... A "squeak squeak" sound like 2 piece of metal rubbing together. Noise from the pano sunroof. It's a "toc" during the opening process of the sunroof 2 second after I press the button (6" open) https://youtu.be/JNCl9w7ng4Y Anybody else have the same noise?? evh
I didn't read the full attached link, but for your second rattle (squeak) check the support coming up from the floor going to the seat in the back (mine was on passenger side). Mine would squeak at times and it drove me crazy. I finally found it by getting back there and slamming my fist into the seat it would make the sound.. I sprayed WD-40 where the brace connected to another one. That fixes it for close to a year.
Frank Drebin
Did you check out this thread: http://www.fordedgeforum.com/topic/17808-ive-got-a-rattle/ Yes! I had this rattle too (under the vehicle) but I fixed it. It's not the roofliner... Now, it's 3 another sound/noise/rattle...

ruby1025
I had the same rattle you mention, but from the the B pillar on passenger side. I thought it was the pano roof myself. Dealer adjusted the B pillar, replaced a clip and tightened everything. Sounds quieter when closed, but if open or popped up, I still have the pano moon roof rattle. Good luck.

evh
Frank, no, it is not what you attached a picture of. In my 2009 it is a metal seat support that connects to the floor and the bottom of the seat. It supports the seat.

stevews99
I had a rattle that was difficult to locate in the same general area you described. It turned out to be the plastic trim on the top edge of the center console (passenger side). If you want to check and see if this is the issue you can press on the trim when you are driving and see if the noise changes or is gone. Once you verify the trim is the problem, move the passenger seat all the way back and recline fully you can see the curved edge of the trim just below the top of the center console (towards the back). The trim is attached to the console with plastic tabs and it's pretty easy to remove is by pulling gently from the back (be careful!). I placed some door weatherstripping (foam with a sticky backing) on the console along the lower edge where the trim is located and reattached the trim. You may have to push a little harder to get the trim to click into the tab which is good because that means the weatherstripping is cushioning the plastic trim. This fix completely eliminated the rattle and squeak! My next task is to attack the rattle coming from the plastic covers on the rear seat belts. If anyone has a fix I appreciate the info! Be well... stevews99
You don't have to remove the entire trim strip which runs along the side of the console. From the back I removed about 6 inches of trim and installed the weatherstripping which did the trick.
ducrider
That padded strip of plastic made the same "creaking" noise as I drove my 2013 Fusion. Same in the 2015 Edge Sport.....must be the same supplier
ducrider
By the way, I also determined that the black plastic "pointed" trim pieces along the lower part of the door on my 2015 Edge Sport are also responsible for some noise (or so I think). In a recent, "spirited" ride from phoenix to Vegas, when I hit speeds somewhere above the posted limit, I heard a noise from the passenger door area. When I came home and investigated the door, I found that the part that wraps under the door wasn't secured tightly, and could possibly vibrate against the under part of the door. A couple squeezes of silicone adhesive between the two pieces, and viola, no more noise...as of now. I'm also going to squeeze some silicone adhesive under the car where those "aero" panels are held up with push-in buttons. Those worked loose on my Fusion. Frank Drebin
Hey guys, can you post picture of the exact place you are are about?
CRR719
I have a rattle that sounds like it's coming from the driver's side door speaker or the vent. It is very annoying, especially since the dealer can't hear it. It seems like talking on the radio makes it worse, but the rattling happens when the radio is on or off when going over bumps. I was going to buy a Volvo, now I'm starting to regret my purchase of the new Edge with all these annoying rattles people are talking about. I have the same feeling here... I looked at the Volvo XC60 T6 R Design but it was more expansive (leasing) than the Edge...
Chris Miller
I second the request of anyone would be kind enough to post pictures of where to pull up and what kind of materials used to remedy this creaking

stevews99
Norm and others: I understand how annoying the rattle from the console area can be! I hope the information I am providing will help. The photo below was take on the passenger side of the Edge. The passenger seat was moved as far back as possible and fully reclined. The red arrow points to the spot where you can pry the plastic trim off the side of the console. PLEASE be careful! I used a screwdriver and gently popped the trim fastener out of the hole on the console. Once you get the pointed edge of the trim out you can easily (and gently!) pull the trim off. The blue arrows point to the edge of the trim piece where I inserted the door weather stripping. I attached the adhesive side to the console along the edge of the trim. You can see some of the weather stripping extending from the edge of the trim. Cut this off when you are done. You don't need to do the entire trim piece. I stopped about where the second blue arrow is located. When you replace the trim piece just pop the fasteners back into the holes in the console. You might have to push a little...that's good! It means the weather stripping is tight against the edge of the trim.
built2prfctn
So I've had a rattle for the past month that I don't think anyone has described. This rattle is coming from the back seat i think sounds like from the passenger side. Sounds kinda like a sharp buzzing sound when i go over a lot of vibrations on a road esp the bumps before tolls on the highway. Anyone have an idea what this is? Frank Drebin
THATS THE FUCKIN SOUND! My dealer took a look one month ago...They didn't find nothing. I have 3 annoying rattle... The back seat!!! From the top near of B pillar https://youtu.be/i9LM1kwmJtA During pano roof opening https://youtu.be/JNCl9w7ng4Y And...since 1 month, at low speed, the pano roof make noise when the surface are not flat (the gap between the street and the sidewalk)... rudeboie
I got a squeaking noise coming from insude the headliner driver side near the door. Sounds like two pieces of plastic or hard rubber rubbing each other. Dealer found nothing, of course. No biggie, just annoying when the music's off. Also the Vista glass in the rear makes a creak or snapping sound whenever the body flexes (i drive up and down ramps alot since i live in a condo with 3 levels of underground parking i need to drive down/up. If it weren't for these annoyances, the car would have been perfect ... so far.
