Easy way to lower Sport is do change tires to lower profile and recalibrate speedometer with tuner device, eg 245/30ZR20 90W XL 182780 10.2 25.83 9.76 8.0-(8.5)-9.0 Nitto NT555 will lower Sport by 2 inches 29.8 vs 25.83.

And will up your fuel consumption by 15% not to mention that the smaller tire will look lost in the wheel well.

Exactly. Have you guys seen those aweful looking Chevy S10's back in the old days in rough neighborhoods running around with really small almost Matchbox toy car like tires on it? It looks goofy and lost. The right way to do it is the lower it properly using a proper kit. Just understand that it could void some warranties. It also changes the suspension geometry and can cause CV joint, halfshaft, and transmission related issues depending on how much variation the stock drivetrain can tolerate. Lowering springs can typically cause abnormal CV joint wear, leaking seals around the half shafts, and so on.

According to a dealer here in the PNW the AirLift Performance front and rears for the MKZ/Fusion AWD will fit the Gen2 Edge Sport. as they all share the CD4 platform and multilink rear. I am likely going this route as it's the best of both worlds: I can ride low for the summer and press a button to get OE ride height for the winter. Downside is near $3000 for the struts and V2 control as well as the loss of a spare to install the reservoir. A lot more than springs but infinitely more versatile.

or just buy aaron vaccars setup for probably half that and you still retain your spare. you will only lose the spare if you want to hid the setup. If you make the setup onto the rear spare tire cover but leave enough line to open it, you can still keep your spare also.

Details? Buy from who, where? I see nothing on either of Vaccar's websites...

Looks like it for Fusion so might bolt up to the edge chassis since we share the same platform as the Fusion

Yes, I said exactly that 4 posts above... what I want to know is what Nick Halstead is referring to about a Vaccar set-up that is half the price of an AirLift set-up.

Thanks for this. I can't see a buyer not taking the suspension as is. I just spent a few minutes comparing the parts (illustrations and part #'s) and I can't figure the difference between the Edge Sport and Fusion/MKZ suspension. Well, rear anyway. Any idea what prevents the AirLift Fusion/MKZ fitting the Edge?

the exact issue I don't know, but it's in the rear and he said it's simply a piece of metal you have to fab. I've talked to Aaron a lot since he started the SEMA build. He would love to keep the car but for that to happen, someone needs to buy his older Turbo Fusion Sport

Does anyone know the cost to install springs, thinking of doing it since Tire Rack has a good price for the springsattachicon.gifIMG_5866.PNG

every place will be different for quotes, one shop here in hawaii wanted $500 due to no knowledge of the edge, other shop wanted $240. eventually, I just said screw it and did it in my driveway. I intended to do it myself anyway but, time was going to be a factor and turned into one, so half now, have later...lol front should be done by friday night depending on my work schedule

I haven't done the front yet, this is how it sits, the rear is def way lower now. I can't even fit my fist between the wheel well and tire
