Ford will make 20 with lithium batteries for trials by Southern California Edison." read the story here- http://www.usatoday.com/money/autos/2008-0...-plug-ins_N.htm

PROTUS
That is year old news....it is also just an experiment, and, I doubt we will see one anytime in the near future.

Right - and it's not just a hybrid, it's a fuel cell powered plug-in hybrid.
chewydawg
You know, I read this article twice then looked at the other EDGE HYBRID articles and I kept on seeing EDGE when it said ESCAPE! Maybe it was wishful thinking on my part. Sorry! Too bad! The Escape is about 3800 lbs and the Edge is a little over 4000, close I think. Wouldn't this make the edge a better ALL AROUND candidate for a gas/electric hybrid??
