Lunareclipse02
Was doing some home improvements and was hauling some items in our 2013 Edge. Well the cargo quarter panels got some damage to them while hauling our items. The wife cleaned the panels with a non harsh cleaner. Well that was a bad thing, the panels were charcoal black now they are a white color. I looked at buying new panels but they are going to cost us around $1k without labor. So I was wondering if there was a interior spray that is close to matching. Thanks
WWWPerfA_ZN0W
Can this cleaner be named? Would help to know if the discoloration is temporary or permanent. There is a plastic paint spray that CinnamonEdge has periodically mentioned works very well, can't think of the name exactly right now. macbwt
Just a thought try a magic eraser on it. Worth a shot to see if it removes the residue. One the other hand for a price of 1k I would just live with it. Have you tried scrape yards? Might get lucky and find one that matches for less $$$
PaulSchott
The product is Colorbond. the web site is www.colorbondpaint.com I used their product on my 07 with medium light stone on the dash and steering wheel. The match was perfect and this was over a year ago. The steering wheel and center armrest look exactly like the day they were done. I expected them to need a repaint within a year. I can't say enough good about their product. Edited July 1, 2015 by PaulSchott
CinnamonEdge
Yup. It's Colorbond . That stuff is awesome. Seriously lasts longer than factory color on leather. In a few years when my leather gets some wear Im going to color the center panels of my seats with the darker accent color of the interior. Paul Im happy its still holding up. Lunareclipse02
I bought a couple cans of the Colorbond 324 before you guys mentioned it. I have not tried it yet. But while waiting in the mail for them I tried turtle wax trim restorer used to restore trim on the outside of your car. Well it made the plastic black again but I still have a few scratches. So I am going to use the color bond to fix those issues. Thanks for your help. Do you guys have any tips on prepping the plastic for paint?
