WNMCJ
I have a 2013 Edge Limited with the Premium audio and Nav systems. About a month ago the radio went into scan mode by itself. initially it was only a few times, however the next day it scanned constantly. On my drive home from work later in the day, it stopped scanning and functioned normally and has been fine for the last month. Today the scan from hell returned with full fury. The scanning was virtually constant, to the point where i had to shut the radio down. The interesting thing is that you could hear the slight station change click sound as it tried to scan, even with the radio off, which would suggest the issue is not with the radio itself. There does not seem to be anything abnormal with the seek button on the steering wheel. In checking the internet it appears this is similar to an issue which has been posted about Ford Flex's back a few years ago, but no clear indication of root cause. The truck is out of warranty, so thought I would reach out to other owners before contacting the dealer. Can anyone provide any insight into this issue? Thanks in advance. Jennifer Deal
I have a 2013 limited Ford Edge that had the same problem. It took 2 visits, a call from the dealer to "ford" and lots of persisting but they found out what was causing the "skipping from hell". While it was skipping they plugged in their computer and tested the front control interface module. It shows that a button was being "depressed" when in fact it wasn't. Therefore, they ordered a replacement FCIM and switched out the part. My car was still under warranty so it was free. Hope this helps!!
