built2prfctn Posted June 3, 2015 Report Share Posted June 3, 2015 Mounted my radar detector today. I removed the plastic cover behind the mirror so I can get power. I just need to find out which one of these wires is Ignition on and ground and ill be set to go. If anyone has any knowledge of this please help. TheWizard Posted June 4, 2015 Report Share Posted June 4, 2015 What about the ground? You can use a multimeter to check ground. Simply set the meter to the ohms (resistance) or the continuity setting, touch one probe to a known good ground like a dash bolt and then use the other probe to check the wires. When you get 0 ohms or the continuity alert beeps you have found a ground wire. Double check it with the ignition on and off as well as with the lights on and off because some wires will reverse polarity when those are on.
