Norm J
Hello all, I have just recently purchase a new 2015 Ford Edge Titanium, and have am trying to get a usb jump drive to play music. I first tried a 128 GB jump drive but it seemed like it would always be "indexing" -- so then I tried a 32 GB jump drive and it tries to "index" as well. I have got music to play from these jump drives, however they never seem to finish indexing. How long should indexing take? I will be trying a 16 GB jump drive over the next couple of days and see if it completes the "indexing" process. Also if the jump drive ever does fully index, is this a one-time process, or would it have to index every time I start the car? I am copying the songs from iTunes to the jump drive on a iMac computer. Am I doing something wrong? Thanks, Norm
WingNut
From my experience in the past, it can take a long time to index. And yes, it is a one time thing. What I would test is just put an album or two on the drive. That should index pretty quickly.
tron1974
I have a 32 GB USB and a 16 GB SD card installed. When I remove then reinsert them, it re-indexes. It takes about 15-20 min total, it seems to do the indexing. I can still play music while it indexes. I've kept all my files to .mp3 files which to me are fine for the car. All my stuff at home is .flac but the Ford doesn't read that type.
