pwrwagn
Hello.. Ive searched and didn't find an answer so hopefully I didn't miss a thread somewhere.. Looking for help on this issue. Have a 2009 Ford Edge. Driver side electric seat not going forward. Is all way back (not a good thing considering this is my wife's car). The seat will go up and down in the front. Took to Ford Dealership. They said it was the switch and would cost $250 to change out. I thought that sounded extreme. Like a fool I assumed they knew what they were talking about and ordered a new switch online. Put the new switch in and same thing. I then proceeded to take the seat out assuming there is some other problem.. Couldn't find anything. Each motor seems to be getting power and I hear a click with the motor driving the seat forward and back but nothing moves. It seems like its bound up? I didn't see a way to manually turn the gear rod. Anyone else have this problem? Have a fix? Might have to suck it up and go to dealership as Im out of ideas. Thanks! professorfingers
I haven't looked at the schematic for this, but it sounds like a limit switch. I would guess there are two, one for each direction (e.g. full forward, full back). Again, this is just a guess. TW

Im not what you might call knowledgable when it comes to auto electronics... Can you tell me where I might find this and how would one go about finding out if it was the culprit? Thanks for the help.
