2008 SEL DRL one light not working

Recommended Posts

Just purchased a 2008 edge sel with 68,000 miles, so far it's been great but I've noticed that the drives side DRL works only 25-45% of the time. I replaced the lights and first time they both worked, turned car off and only passenger side works. Anyone had an similar issue? First post but looks like a lot of information.

Thanks,

Mike

Welcome to the forum, congrats on your '08 SEL! From the owner's manual:

Daytime running lamps (DRL) (if equipped)
Turns the headlamps on at reduced intensity output. To activate:
• the ignition must be in the ON position and
• the headlamp control must be in the OFF or Parking lamps position.

This would imply that the ignition switch or headlamp control switch are the most likely culprits. The Edge's electrical system CAN be finicky, so if the light bulbs are not halogen, and instead HID or LED, the lower power draw can cause some issues with the BCM.
