tatmana
Hey guys, So I installed a HID kit (bought from eBay) on a 2010 edge. I decided to take it off them off and re-install the factory bulbs and remove the wiring. Now the factory bulbs are acting like DRL's. I know some have said DRL's are enabled on some Edge's but they weren't like that before the HID kit was installed. This doesn't bother me too much, just wondering what could have caused them to stay on. Any info helps. Thanks!
enigma-2
DRL's are controlled by setting a bit in the controller of the smart junction box (fuse panel on drivers left near floor). I'm only guessing, but possibly the aftermarket HID kit turned on the DRL circuit for some purpose and disconnecting the kit left it energized. Also in some later model cars (according to my Ford garage mechanic) the feature may be user selectable through the Message Center, although I never asked how this was done. (It was not available on my 09). Personally I like this feature but if you don't, it can be easily turned off at you local Ford garage. WWWPerfA_ZN0W
Sometimes the BCM/SJB can act flaky. Maybe you can "reset" the circuit by either 1) pulling the neg batt cable for 30 min or so, or 2) pulling any fuses/relays related to the headlights.
