Ed Amantia
I have a 2014 Edge with the 290w Sony Premium system. The front door speakers are mid drivers and I find them to be a little heavy with the mid bass... Ive heard good things about the Alpine and other coax and I wouldnt mind adding some additional tweeter detail in the front... Has anyone tried this? Will the coax get the full frequency or are the front door speakers only getting the mid frequencies?... thanks.
akirby
There are tweeters in the door next to the handle. There is usually a crossover built into the mid bass driver that sends the lows to the tweeter. I don't think adding a coax speaker will help much since you already have a separate tweeter and you'd have to add a crossover. If you want to upgrade get a better component set. Ed Amantia
Thanks for the response, but the tweeters are not in the door, they are up in the pillars by the windshield. The reason for doing this is to get better tone from the door speakers, as mentioned I find the mid bass to be too spikey.

If you replace the door driver you'll need a crossover to run the factory tweeter.
