ypodolyan
I've been bugged by this issue for the last 4 years. I have 2011 Ford EDGE Limited with Sony/MFT. The increment/step for volume change is too big. I am listening with volume at 4-6 bars out of, I don't know, 50 maybe. When I change from 4 to 5 the increase in sound volume is too big. Can I modify something to have volume increase more gradually? FYI, I do not have sensitive ears. Actually, my hearing is not very good and my wife thinks that music is too loud in my EDGE. Still, I listen at like 5 out of 50 bars. Is there anything I can do? Can I reduce amp output somehow maybe?
wlepse
If you find a solution please post it...this drives me crazy too.
akirby
Make sure the speed sensitive volume is off or at 0. Outside of that there isn't much you can do about it. I haven't noticed that problem in my Fusion but it may be different than the Edge.
xK317Hx
I've noticed on occasion when I thumb the volume up level with just one push it sends the volume to the max. Nothing I do will stop it other then turning off the music altogether. But it only happens once in a blue moon.
RustyEdge
Yea same thing here, I just deal with it. I also get the occasional volume spike when using the steering wheel controls. Again, I don't think there's anything you can do on either end. Maybe a new radio all together but that might be a little dicey with the HVAC controls and everything else being integrated. factor99
I agree. My preferred level would be right in the middle of two steps.

ericm007
Yep same here. I'd also like to be able to rearrange the audio source menu to bring the SD to the top.
jeffcarl
Yes I think I mentioned this as one of the very few things that bugs me about my '13 Edge SEL (with MFT) as well. It isn't a deal breaker & isn't causing leather couch time with a shrink, but it is an annoyance. It seems that just about everything in the car is software controlled so you would think that someone could get into the system, change a bit of code and presto: 50% reduction in each "click" of volume up or down. Meanwhile..... Well I'm getting used to it, but should there ever be a patch I would be in. Happy Motoring jeff
ypodolyan
So...no solution :-(. At least I'm not the only one with this issue.
akirby
It's been mentioned a few times. I don't have that problem at all in my 2013 Fusion but I think the systems are different.
CARR142
Ypodolyan, have you tried the fade option? favoring the rear over the front speakers. Then you might not notice the differences in volume.
