Denise Egan
I have a 2008 ford edge and want to replace the headlights any suggestions on the brightest replacement besides LED? I don't want to have to purchase any kind of kit
rwf78155
Tried three different bulbs and all were little to no better.Even tried the Sylvania Ultra's Finally did the LED's from dan@daytimebrightlites.com and they are fantastic! The best part...simple plug and play install...no wiring issues....and they were only $120. Dont waste your time on different bulbs...do the LED's from Dan...his service is fantastic ! candurin
Just to avoid confusion. Dan's headlight kits are HID, not LEDs. Ā HID would represent the biggest lumens/"brightness" increase. However, if you have a halogen reflector (which the 2008 edge does), you will cause issues to oncoming traffic due to the improper light scatter as a result of using HID bulbs in reflector housing. Ā You may want to consider upgrading to a projector headlight on your edge. Ā VLED.com does sell a true LED headlight conversion kit, which may be better suited for a reflector housing (but I can't back that up with any science nor evidence).

PrinzII
In the past, I used PIAA Extreme White bulbs. But ever since I went HID (and plan to go LED), I have not looked back at any halogen bulb whatsoever.
fishx65
H-9's in place of the H-11's make a huge difference in low beam brightness. Lots of info online about the slight mod you have to make to the H-9 for proper fitment. Just make sure to aim them properly after install.
