Love our New Edge!

I began test driving SUV’s and crossovers about two months ago, searching for the right vehicle. My wife & I wanted something smaller than an Explorer, but we also wanted something with nice features and a smooth ride. When we got around to test driving Fords, we were stunned to learn that the 2015's weren’t even out yet, so we drove the 2014. We fell in love with it. The Ford salesman showed what the 2015's were going to look like. The pictures looked fantastic so we decided to wait on the 15's.

Now, two months later, the 2015's are FINALLY starting to slowly trickle in. We rushed to the Ford dealer and there it was! Unfortunately, and this is just my own personal opinion....they looked better online than they did in person. I was sadly unimpressed. All the anticipation was a let down for me. I’m sure others will disagree, but I actually like the looks of the 2014 better. Again, just my personal taste and opinion. Add to this the fact that Ford was offering $7k in rebates on a 2014, my decision was simple.

We ended up driving off with a 2014 Edge Limited AWD. No buyers remorse, we are happy with our decision!

I'm right there with you. I do not care for the look of the 2015 Edge, too angular if that makes any sense. The tail lights look horrible, the front end is starting to look like every other suv/cuv out there.

I'm on my 2nd Edge, I have a 2014 Sport and love the looks of it, the 2015 Sport not so much

To each his own. I'm sure there are just as many folks who prefer the new one over the old one.

$7K in rebates?? That doesn't sound right. I only see $4750 if you have a conquest vehicle and you're financing with Ford Credit. Maybe you were including discounts off MSRP?

I was extremely close to buying a 2014 Edge in the fall of 2014. I agree that the 2015 front end looks too much like foreign crossovers, but once I learned of the new features like heated steering wheel, I waited until 2015 to order a 2015 Edge. I'm particular of color and features also, so would have been difficult to find a 2014 that meet my needs. Still waiting for my 2015...haven't seen one in person yet either.

I agree....as I said in my post, I'm sure there are those who will like the 2015 better. I also agree that there are some cool options available only on the 2015, but it wasn't enough to sway me. Different strokes for different folks.

Not sure how much of it was dealer discount and how much of it was Ford, but I paid $7K under MSRP.
