Cesar Salmeron
Anyone know of a video for an R/R of a front wheel bearing? Or free pdf of repair? 2010 edge. Even written instructions would help. Do and don't, special precautions. Need help. Thanks.
macbwt
I have changed six, but never had the idea to video the process. Give me time and I will have one I am sure. Then again you could be first if you want to do it.
Cesar Salmeron
Thank you for your time...six times suck. You can probably do it with eyes closed, wish you had a video.
macbwt
I will soon one or two have about 90k or more on them so I am sure the time is near. I have some noise on my right front that once I change the snow tires and mount the summer tires I should have an idea if the bearing is going bad. The snow tires sort of make a lot more noise and are harder to tell if a bearing is going. WWW will most likely have the removal and install instructions on this page very soon once he reads this post.
WWWPerfA_ZN0W
You can look at the instructions online here, multiple pages for the entire process: FWD http://workshop-manuals.com/ford/edge_fwd/v6-3.5l/steering_and_suspension/suspension/wheel_bearing/component_information/service_and_repair/front/ AWD http://workshop-manuals.com/ford/edge_awd/v6-3.5l/steering_and_suspension/suspension/wheel_bearing/component_information/service_and_repair/front_suspension/ In case you need to do the rears: http://www.fordedgeforum.com/topic/8329-07-sel-plus-awd-rear-bearinghub-replacement/?do=findComment&comment=66768 More info further down the thread if you need it. macbwt
The rear should be a lot easier to replace than the fronts. For some reason my right front seems to go through wheel bearings, but one that was replaced failed due to defect and had to be replaced after only 30k miles. Just a note the Right Rear was the first wheel bearing to fail on my 2008. I measure wheel bearing failure by how high I have to turn up the volume on the radio.
