DunePearlEdge
Are there any good options for supporting an iPhone at near the radio? I use mine for navigation frequently and find that taking it it in and out of the cup holder is tedious and dangerous.
akirby
There should be several topics already posted, but I've always had good luck with pro-fit holders.
enigma-2
I've tried several different cell phone holders and finally ended up with this one.http://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B00JNJPS4W/ref=oh_aui_detailpage_o04_s00?ie=UTF8&psc=1 It clips into the instrument panel vent louvers. In my case, it allows me to position my Galaxy 5 directly under my Escort Passport Max. (This radar detector connects to my cell phone through bluetooth to locate speed traps as much as a 10 miles out; before the radar detector actually can detect a radar signal. Also displays a real time map to show all of the latest police sightings on the map and shows in feet the distance to the hidden speed trap; starting about a mile out. Does this by connecting all Passport detectors together via the cloud. When anyone detector detects a radar signal all of the others are informed on their connected cell phone). One of the biggest problems with the other vent holders I've used is they hold the cell phone OK, but the vent louvers tilt with ever bump and the cell tilts as well. This holder is designed differently. I found that if you use the lower vent louver to attach to and use the bottom frame of the vent for support, the holder is rock-solid and doesn't move at all. Simple to install and remove. You can easily swivel it from vertical to horizontal and change the angle to suit. It's possible to attach the phone with one hand, easier if you use two. Price is $16 (w/free 2-day shipping if you have Amazon Prime).
Kitulu
I use RAM mounts in my Edge and on the bike. To give you an idea of how well it hold the phone, I rode from Ft. Rucker, AL to Panama City Beach, FL with my phone in a RAM mount on the handlebar and had no issues.
