Jamie Neves
So we purchased our 2014 edge which was the barebones version, non-nav but I would certainly like to see how much it would be to add the Ford version of myTouch to our edge. If anyone has any thoughts on this or possibly what I would be looking at regarding if it might be better to do it through a third party, myself or maybe even through Ford, that would certainly be very helpful. Waldo
That's funny. It will cost you way more to install MFT in your Edge than to trade in your Edge and buy one that already has it.
Ungo
When I was shopping for my Edge I chose the touch screen because it looks much cleaner then the bare bones with 100 knobs everywhere. However, with that being said, I bet it would cost a pretty penny to get MFT installed which IMO isn't worth it. It is nice, but not that nice. I was reading something on aftermarket headunits all supporting the android ecosystem now. I'd look into maybe buying one of those for your Edge. Then you can get Android navigation, android apps for music, and apps for movies....
austing
Also bear in mind you can only get versions that cover 1 USA and Canada or 2 USA and Mexico. It does not cover North America.
jmr061
Changing out from non MFT to MFT would be near impossible. Completely different wiring harnesses, vehicle programming ,etc. Now if you have non NAV MFT and want to add NAV to it....that is possible. I can do that. jmr061
How? I am not willing to say how but I can do it and have done it for a few people now. I have taught myself all about IDS usage and as built data, etc as you can probably tell from my website.
