ccualumni
First post... So happy i found these boards. I just traded in a 2006 ford Expedition with a factory sound system and got a 2014 Edge Sport. The sound is not bad, but it is not as clear and definitely not as loud as my 9 year old expedition. I am not sure if I have a separate sub or not (got it after dark last night and did not have time today). I noticed where the spare goes, I may be able to put a tube sub (or whatever they call them), or obviously replace a sub if I have one. Can anyone suggest what to do and get to get better sound? I am in shock over how much better the sound was in my expedition. I used the same CD in the Edge I had in my expedition. Should I add a sub, replace speakers or what? Thanks in advance for the advice.
CinnamonEdge
Sony System is pretty good for a factory upgrade. You do have a sub in the rear passenger side with the amp. I would keep the speakers as they are tuned for the sony system. I think your looking for more bass. So that is what I would upgrade. akirby
Did you customize the audio controls (bass, treble, DSP, etc.)?
ccualumni
I did adjust the buttons some, but it did not get as loud or as good as I was hoping for. Can someone recommend a good sub to upgrade to? When I asked at the dealer, I was told that it was their premium stereo. I am just surprised that my older expedition actually sounds better Thanks
jrod99
I got the JL Audio stealth 10" subwoofer kit and it sounds great!
ccualumni
Jarod, did you buy the sub and it fit right in, or did you have to buy an entire kit to install it? Thanks for the response. Btw... I adjusted the treble, bass, etc... And turned them up and it sounded much worse.
