Phi Tran
Hello All, I am a new owner of a 2007 Ford Edge. I love the ride but I have a few issues with the vehicle that you guys maybe able to help me out with. First: The car has a hard start. It takes a good 4-6 Second cranking and then the engine turns over. The car has always start it just takes a few extra seconds of cranking. This generally happens in the morning. The car has a brand new battery. Spark Plugs? Starter? Throttle Body? Second: Radio, it creates a loud pop and there is silence. Somedays the radio will work but only play from the passenger rear speaker and the front ones will cracker or buzz and then go silent. Any suggestions? I check the radio fuse which is not blown and i remove the radio disconnect the wires from it and reconnected. Third: A/C, the AC works except when you leaving it running one side will blow cold air and the other side wont. for example they both start off cold tempt is at 68 on Dual control. Then the Driver side will stop blowing cold air but the passenger is blow cold. then i take the off the dual control and set my driver side to 60 and the driver side will not blow cold air and the passenger will then the passenger side states it at 68 but blows colder than the drivers side some times they both dont blow code at all. The freon is filled. What could it be? Thank you for your help, Phi
WWWPerfA_ZN0W
Welcome to the forum, congrats on your '07 Edge! AWD/FWD? Where are you located, and what is the temperature when you are trying to start the car? What type/brand/capacity of battery is in there currently? Have you checked voltage between the terminals when everything is turned off and lights off/doors closed/key out of ignition? Are the cables tight on the terminals (no movement) and corrosion-free? Changed the oil recently? Does the engine have 5W20 in it? Radio is most likely kaput, and needs replacement. You have the EATC (electronic climate control)? The EATC unit could have failed, small possibility that the blend door actuator is at fault also. Any clicking noises at all? If there is a short in the EATC unit, it could be causing a parasitic draw from the battery also (causing startup issues). Grab EATC related DTCs here. macbwt
Note it might be wise to at least verify this Edge is not a flood vehicle just to rule out the possibility. How many miles on it?
Phi Tran
Has 104k mileage on it. Not sure if it has been flooded but the car was brought in Florida by the original owner and this is a one owner vehicle.

Phi Tran
Located in Miami temps no lower than 50 degrees for the starter issue.
macbwt
Buy some good quality fuel throw in some injector cleaner for a few tanks. Change the plugs also if that has not been done. I would tackle it as an ingnition/fuel delivery issue in regards to the lenghty starts. Mine took that many cranks to start a few weeks ago, but it was 25 below zero. Phi Tran
What type/brand/capacity of battery is in there currently? It has a exlide battery Have you checked voltage between the terminals when everything is turned off and lights off/doors closed/key out of ignition? No I have not Are the cables tight on the terminals (no movement) and corrosion-free? Yes Changed the oil recently? Yes it's yellow Does the engine have 5W20 in it? Not sure what type of oil because it was done before I got. You have the EATC (electronic climate control)? Dual climate not sure if I have this. The EATC unit could have failed, small possibility that the blend door actuator is at fault also. Any clicking noises at all? There is a click at time but when it click the a/c gets cold. If there is a short in the EATC unit, it could be causing a parasitic draw from the battery also (causing startup issues).
