BUZZCUT1580
Can someone please help. My window squeaks only when it is all the way up. I can just tap it down and the squeak stops. I brought it to the dealer twice already and it is not fixed. To be honest i think they worked on the wrong window this last time based on the hand prints on the door. Do you think this is caused by the weather striping or somehting inside the door ? This is so frustrating because the edge is so quiet inside so it stand out even more. Its a brand new car, and i just want to punch the window when i drive in it. Please help. Also, seems when the engine is warm and we come to a stop at a light we smell a burning oil smell through the heat vents! I read about this same exact symptom on here and people said it was a leak from the transfer case. Well i brought mine in and they said they couldnt find a leak. They put some kind of dye in it and i am supposed to drive it for a week and bring it back. Hope its nothing major.

I noticed a similar thing, a lower pitched rubbing sound (rather than a squeak) on my MKX when I first bought it, but it wasn't necessarily coming from the window itself, sounded more like the top of the door frame. I applied some armor all to the gasket material around the door and the sound went away. Don't know if this is what you're experiencing, but might be worth a try. I suspect I may have to continue doing this over time or maybe just a good treatment of wax to the painted area where the seal contacts it.
