btaback
I finally took the plunge after tons of research! Here are some pictures of my 2007 MKX with the Audiovox DUAL DVD headrest package installed. Installation is pretty simple and straightforward. I will try to take some better pictures one night so I don't get all the glare. These came from http://www.headrestvideo.com/vsheadrests/f...eforumdisc.html - the quality of the material and stitching is great and the match to the factory interior is perfect. And please, spare me the whole "kids shouldn't need TV's in the car" stuff. This is for limited use as I do believe in conversation with your children. I too am looking at DVD headrests, but am sceptical of your "review". Headrestsvideo.com website is very limited in information about their business. Their domain registration is similarly vague. where are they located? where did the headsets ship from? what is their non-800 telephone number? If you don't mind, who else did you consider with your "tons of research"? What was it about the other products that didn't meet your criteria. What was your criteria? In my PERSONAL opinion, Audiovox is not a Tier 1 electronics supplier. I apologize if its not, but your message seems closer to an advertisement for headrestvideo.com, than a legitimate posting. Good_Hands
Dear Watson...I am kinda confused myself... interesting stuff! I went back and reviewed his previous posts (I had some time on my hands last night) and quite a few of them make references to that website. I get warm and fuzzy about VERY few things; Audiovox certainly isn't on that list. Granted, he could just be talking about a great deal and how happy he is and wants to recomment them. I supposed you could say that about me with some of the earlier posts I made about the Enkei wheels and Hankook tires. However...It is very obvious I don't get any kind of bump from Enkei or Hankook. Unfortunately, we can't say the same about him.

btaback
Wow, this was an unexpected response to my post. I have been a part of many forums over the years for other cars that I have owned and nowhere else have I ever had a personal attack. I've recommended many products/sellers in the past and I never got a anything from them - not Amazon or WeatherTech or PAC or Belkin or Pioneer or Costco or Blitzsafe or Harman Kardon or Samsung...(I can keep going)... And no one ever questioned my recommendations. Sure some disagreed with my opinion, but no one ever attacked my character. I considered putting in headrests many times over the past 6 months. I don't spend $1200 without doing a fair share of research. I'm sorry that I used things that I had found in my research to try to help other forum members find what they are looking for. That aside, I was happy to recommend these folks and share my experience because over the course of many calls (even though I didn't buy anything) it was always a positive one - much like dealing with Crutchfield but on an obviously smaller scale - I only spoke with 2 different people over the course of all my calls. Oops, am I going to get in trouble for saying that I like Crutchfield too? I found the company originally on ebay and that feedback was enough for me to consider them - even with the lousy website and lack of a non-1-800 # (I am not sure why that is an issue). So, finally, I took the plunge and purchased the headrests. If you have a real question as to why I picked the Audiovox over the other competitors, I'd be happy to tell you my thoughts. But if you are just throwing it out there because you are skeptical, I would prefer not to further waste my time. I thought I was doing everyone a favor but obviously you feel otherwise. As far as the pictures, I sent them pictures of my install (they offer a $10 refund if you do it) which they posted - I can't believe that became suspicious. Congrats to the private investigator that figured out that it was the same set of pictures - that must have been tough. In this day and age, it is rare that you have an experience as pleasant as mine was, especially with a web merchant. Yes, they did ask that I share my positive experience on this forum if I was happy but I certainly don't see a crime in that. As an owner of a small business myself, I too know and appreciate the importance of referral business. At this point, I don't care what you buy, where you buy it or what you spend - just know that I am very happy with my purchase.

btaback
So why did you pick Audiovox over the others? What were the others you considered? I considered Myron and Davis, Vizualogic, Invision and Rosen (all with the 2 DVD headrests). The Myron and Davis aren't even in the same league as the others (ugly flap door on top of DVD player, vents on sides of headrests, no video inputs on junction box, no audio output). Vizualogic didn't offer the game controller which I thought was a pretty neat gimmick. If I could've gotten it for a few bucks less than the Aud, I probably would have. In my opinion the Invision (like the M/D) are ugly. Besides that, they didn't offer the games either. But the big reason why they weren't an option is that they didn't have a direct audio output. I wanted something that could directly plug in to the AUX INPUT in the center console. So, it was down to Rosen and Audiovox. Rosen had everything I wanted - direct audio out, games (for which there are 2 wireless controllers vs. 1 wired Audiovox), 2 inputs and a supposedly very good screen. I was a little weary of them because of the spring-loaded mechanism of the screen and the lack of feedback out there on the product but would have overlooked it if I could have found a decent price. Unfortunately, I couldn't (the best I could find was $1800) and being that I could've bought an extra game controller for the Audiovox only $40, Audiovox was the clear winner for $1220 shipped less $10 refund for the pictures. I thought the screen quality was very good and I think the overall cosmetics of the headrests are great. Let me know if you have any more questions. 07 MKX
Yea, you were a little touchy, but I'm partially to blame for that. However, When I do click that sight, something from their is litterly trying to access my WMP, as the threat alert says. That was my first alarm, second was that the pic's were identical to what you show and third. It only showed a come-on price for this web site. I'm sure you see the Tye in to a hacking attempt, or I can forward you a lot of the email's I get from Citi's site telling me, there waiting for me to collect the money their holding for me. So anyways, The headrests look nice, but for kid's, another cheaper way to go is a portable player and bag you could hang on the headrests. IF you and your loved one like to get in the backseat to watch movie's, the audio out would be a nice option to play thru the MKX THXII system to get your real theater experience. I too looked over your posts and from a long time ago, you were looking for info on these, I didn't know if you went into business or it was a good elaborate setup, Believe me, you click enough websites you'll get a trojan faster than you can blink. Now that you've been initiated, welcome aboard.
cmccarthy
The headrests look good, and the OEM style contrasting stitching is a huge plus. Its just a shame they only come with audiovox electronics, as that's just straight up Wal-Mart dogshit. I wonder if they would sell the headrests minus electronics so I could install my own stuff.
