robertlane
There hasn't been any postings here in a while. Where are all of the Ford Edge Ecoboost owners?
112235
My 2012 SEL 2.0 Ecoboost just passed 11,000 miles & I am still in awe of the quiet efficient power of that little 4 cyl. engine. Got 29.9 mpg on a recent trip to Portland, OR, 28.4 on return trip (uphill you know). Town mpg around 17 to 20, the 17 belongs to my heavy footed wife. Don't know how they solved the spool up lag on the turbo. Acceleration is instant & smooth.

mona
I'm in the same boat with your heavy-footed wife. But why have it if you can't flaunt it? And some of us do that by zipping around town. Sometimes I think it's a state of mind, depending on the vehicle. And this is, indeed, one of those vehicles! 112235
Prior to the Edge I had a Buick Rendzevous, 190 hp v6. Nice vehicle but can't compete with my Edge in any way I can think of.
mona
Is Ecoboost all it's cracked up to be? Still on the fence on that subject. What are the benefits?

robertlane
The 1.6L Edge Ecoboost engine seems to have had some recalls, but Ford has addressed them all.
mightydog
I wonder why the other one does not have to many recalls, makes me wonder if one is better to buy then the other. Seems they got it wrong with the 1.
mona
That may be true. But if they have addressed all the issues, they are, at least, taking care of the problem. Doesn't help when you have to take it in to be fixed, or if you happen to get stranded. None of which have happened with me. But, I can certainly appreciate the frustration. Ford always stands behind their products. That has been my experience anyway.
