IZZYAZ
I received the same e-mail. I was hoping for a cold-air intake by now rather then a replacement filter.
NYEdge
I got the same email, and I was also disappointed that they don't have a cold intake yet. Oh well, guess I'll wait for a different company to offer a true cold air intake.
CreamEDGE.
This looks EXACTLY like the MS6 filter, which also works on the CX-7, the sizes are nearly the same too, you guys could have had one of these a while ago.
capnkirk52
ordered mine. hope the edge responds like our 04 focus did. that sucker picked up 5mpg after the filter swap! ONLY vehicle to ever gain mileage after mods haha.
capnkirk52
good news. Drove about 100 miles after install yesterday and just from that short trip it looked like we were getting about 1.5-2.0 mpg better than usual. 70mph driving saw an average of 27.5-28.0 mpg and 60mph driving saw 30! Both trips were with cruise on 70 on the way there and 60 on the way back 25miles each way. With town driving factored in we averaged 24.6 for the day and normally we are in the 21-21.5 range. Don't expect to much of a seat of the pants power increase though. It's not noticeable.
amandashook
Wow! I ordered mine too and still waiting on it to get here. Should be in next couple of days. I am getting good gas mileage now and cant wait for it to get even better.
anr
Hmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmm, I wonder why there is NO K&N air filter listed for the 2007 MKX? As far as I know, the air filter used in the '07 MKX is identical to that used in the '07 Edge or '08 MKX - same engine and filter housing. Oh, I DID give K&N a call and they insisted that I NOT try to use the filter availalbe for the '07 Edge or the '08 MKX - the gal on the phone stated that there could be a performance/warranty problem. Go figure!
CreamEDGE.
Nothing has changed, lets not forget these two are twins, they're just covering their ass in case anything happens, it's fine to use that filter. 07 MKX
It's just a replacement filter the same size and location as your original one.

Daves43
My 2008 MKX has about 750 miles on it so far. I'm averaging about 15mpg with a mixture of city/highway driving. Is it worth purchasing this filter now or waiting until I have more miles on it? Thanks for the feedback! Dave
capnkirk52
Do it now Dave.. Even if your MPG doesn't go up, you don't ever need to replace the filter and will save money on filters alone.
amandashook
I agree with capnkirk. It will def. not hurt anything. If they had come out with it sooner, I would have already had it on mine when i first purchased the vehicle. I seem to be getting a few more MPG already. And like he says, it saves money in the long run.
xplorgee
Did anyone have problems puting the filter in. I felt like I had to manhandle the filter top to get the tabs in the holes. It was just a hair off.
capnkirk52
Nope. Pretty easy for me. side note: If you want more aftermarket stuff just go to www.evoperform.com and pick up a tuner from Fred. You won't believe the difference a tune makes on this vehicle. amandashook
I had a lil trouble getting mine squeezed in there too. Not a lot of trouble though. I can tell improve in mileage which is good. Still lovin my Edge and livin on the Edge! :happy feet:
818EDGE
It was a bit snug gettin the 2 tab in on the right side but nothing horrible. Haven't seen any increase in MPG though.
07 MKX
Haven't seen any increase in MPG though. No, you probably won't, But you will see an increase in internal engine wear, and that would show up in an oil analyst. But most of you probably don't take samples and send them off. AutoAnything.com http://www.autoanything.com/brands/102A399.aspx K&N Filter Recharge Kit (From $19.95) K&N Air Filters (from $26.50) So for the same amount of money as a good paper filter sold by Ford or any parts store, it's about the same amount of money for 100K miles, with the added benifit of no increase in gas mileage and Increased engine wear.
