ezrider93
My wife and I are considering purchasing and Edge with the ecoboost engine. Can anyone give me any insight as to what additional maintenance might be required by the ecoboost versus ths standard V6? I typically keep a vehicle quite a few years. Our 2000 Escort ZX2 has 207K and climbing. Would you think I could expect that kind of longevity from this engine? Thanks in advance for your input. robertlane
I don't think that there's anything extra. Just make sure that you follow the oil change schedule. You can also check out the below forums for other Ford's that use the E.B. engine: FordEdgeForum.com FordFlexForum, com LincolnMKSForums.com
Lloyd Erickson
Looking at the Fall 2011 issue of My Ford Magazine, Pg. 16 you will see that Ford did some pretty extensive testing of the EcoBoost engine. I believe that should give you insight to the reliability of the EcoBoost engine. Hope you can get hold of a copy of this if you do not have one in your posesstion.
