Dominatron2212
Are there any near white bright non-HID headlight replacements out there that are worth the money? Looking for a bit better projection than what I have now. Edited November 23, 2014 by Dominatron2212
WWWPerfA_ZN0W
You could try the LED bulbs available out there, 20W/side, 2200+ lumen (advertised) per bulb. Plug 'n play. 6000K though, so somewhat above the pure white range. Around 4K color range, there is the incandescent Osram NightBreaker series. WWWPerfA_ZN0W
Name brand (vLEDs) pre-order only at this time: http://www.vleds.com/headlights/lmz-ultra.html EBay (TXT LED lighting): http://www.ebay.com/itm/221424968550 I am currently using the TXT lights, I think they may be a better fit for projectors (like you have) though. Still working on them
Dominatron2212
I dont think those will fit.. I was seeing I need HIR2/9012.. any thoughts there?
WWWPerfA_ZN0W
I believe a 9006 bulb will fit fine in a 9012 socket without any trimming (9012 base has to be trimmed to fit into 9006 however). So look for 9006 LED bulbs that you like.
Dominatron2212
Can anyone else confirm this? As much as I'd like to blindly trust... I'm having a hard time confirming. Also.. does anyone have experience with changing bulbs? Are these simply twist and change? Or will pieces have to be removed?
PrinzII
Dominatron: I am currently running a HID kit with 9006 bulbs and they fit with no issues. Some folks report having to trim one of the tabs in order to get it to fit.
enigma-2
Dominatron: you consider trying Sylvania's SilverStar Ultra Halogens? They market them as being "whitest and brightest headlight currently available". I had SilverStar's in my last car and really liked them. Were four years old when I traded, but I didn't do a lot of night driving.

WWWPerfA_ZN0W
Sure you don't have HID on the Sport? Halogens are listed in the OM as HIR2 or 9012. The Silverstar Ultras are listed only for: 9003/H4, 9004, 9005, 9006, 9007, H7, H11, H13/9008 Edited December 13, 2014 by WWWPerfA_ZN0W
enigma-2
I think you're right, the Silverstar does not fit your 14 Edge. I plugged in your car on Amazon and got these results: http://www.amazon.com/s/ref=au_pf_dp_lf_ladp_1_3?_encoding=UTF8&i=automotive&node=15730151&vehicle=2014-54-5858------------3 Dennis Edited December 13, 2014 by enigma-
WWWPerfA_ZN0W
I think the real upgrade would be a 9006 HID kit based on this thread: http://www.fordedgeforum.com/topic/13037-headlights-2013-sport/ From what I have read, HIR2 bulbs give you about 1800 or so lumens, while these "brigher" replacement halogens are not much better, at or under 2000 for sure. Still you could give the SS Ultra 9006 a go if you like.
