good2Bking
I made the mistake of ordering OEM splash guards from the FoMoCo Accessories site for my '13 Edge SEL. Picked it up at my local dealer.Thought I was doing the right thing going with the genuine Ford part. However, I'm not impressed.Judging by the wordless idiot instructions the installation appears to be unnecessarily complicated. Beyond my ability to deal with it, and I'm not paying Ford another $50 to do it for me. After reading the reviews (which in hindsight I should've done first) I'm going to pick up a pair of the Husky brand guards. If anyone out there absolutely has to have the genuine Ford part for their Edge or MKX (it fits 2007 to 2014) I have this posted on eBay (item #261658533797). $28 or best offer. No tax and I'll eat the shipping. Not making anything on this, just trying to get as close as possible to breaking even. RE-LISTED 12/26/14 for 30 days. Item #261700084160 Price lowered to $25 or best offer. SOLD Edited December 29, 2014 by good2Bking
GT Sport
Hi: Before you sell the splash guards, check this out. With some minor cutting and drilling of the guards, you should be able to install them using existing screws and holes and not damage any of your bodywork. I used the post below to install them on my 2014 Edge Sport AWD. They look fine and work and work well. http://www.fordedgeforum.com/topic/9151-2012-sport-mud-flaps/
good2Bking
Thanks, I appreciate the heads-up and link to c_bova's post, but I already ordered the Husky flaps and have the Ford flaps up on eBay. That was a very smart mod that c_bova did, but shouldn't have been necessary for the genuine Ford part that is supposed to fit their own vehicle. This is a sub-par part with horrible instructions. Thanks again.
GT Sport
good2BKing: Couldn't agree more. The instructions were worthless and it was immediately obvious that the guards would not fit without modification. It was fortunate that someone else took the time to do the hard work and post those usable pictures. I will check out the Husky product too. Good luck. good2Bking
The Husky flaps (item 58411) fits '07 - '13 Edge; all but the sport trim. It took me all of 15 minutes to install both. Uses the existing trim screws They match the trim perfectly, a custom fit. They look great! At $39 they're about $10 more than OEM, but in the end worth every penny.
