rick wallace
My 2010 Edge Limited has now joined the family of leaky Edge gas tanks. Condition only prevalent when the gas tank is filled (not over-filled). Noticed some fumes at first now see gas leaks on the driveway when tank is full. This car was bought new in Sept. 2011. WWWPerfA_ZN0W
Covered under warranty at least, I hope! Is it at the seam noted earlier by fellow victims?
ls973800
Covered under warranty at least, I hope! Is it at the seam noted earlier by fellow victims? If purchased in Sept of 2011, it's out of the bumper to bumper 36 months and he didn't mention how many miles or kms. I don't believe the tank is covered by the power train warranty. Hopefully it is something to do with the filler tube or neck since it only leaks when full. Wonder if his dealer can get Ford to goodwill any repairs, depending on exactly what the problem is. PaulSchott
there is a recall on 2007 / 2008 Edges for this problem. I wonder if the tanks are the same and if you are at the beginning of the next wave of leaky tanks. I'm not sure when or if Ford changed over to plastic tanks. rick wallace
Covered under warranty at least, I hope! Is it at the seam noted earlier by fellow victims? Haven't had it in to the dealers yet, so I can't tell you exactly where it's leaking. According to them (I've phoned a few) they are not aware of any widespread problems with gas tank leaks in this model year. Would be interested to hear from anyone else that has had this problem.
